When I was eight years old I heard a traveling evangelist clearly preach the Word of God. Through his preaching, the Holy Spirit showed me my own sin and that the judgment that was rightly due to me was coming. Praise the Lord that evangelist also preached Jesus Christ crucified! I saw Jesus as my only Remedy and fled that day from the wrath that was to come into the loving arms of the Savior Who gave Himself for me.
At an early age I sensed God’s calling into ministry. For several years I resisted this calling and then a tragedy struck in my family. God used this heartbreak to show me just how fleeting this life is and how meaningless and futile is everything in this world that is not done for Him. At seventeen years old, I put myself on an imaginary alter in my mind and said, “Here I am, Lord. Use me however you want.” From that day on God put in me a desire and a love for doing ministry for Him.
It is an indescribable, at times terrifying, adventure to walk through life holding the Hand of the All Consuming Fire.
But there is nothing in this life that I recommend more… years of jail ministry, homeless ministry, campus ministry, youth ministry, street ministry, church ministry,… All so fulfilling, while at the same time crucifying self in me and conforming me more into the image of my precious Savior. The only regrets that I have in this life are those moments that I got distracted with my own wants.
I am currently a full time evangelist with a mission organization called Open Air Campaigners, preaching the Gospel to the lost, making disciples and equipping them to share the Gospel to the lost, as well as answering God’s call for me to pastor this precious local church, 3rd Day Bible Fellowship.
Together, as a church it is our intent and delight to carry out our Savior’s final mandate when He said to us…
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt 28:18-20)
